The funding aims to encourage neighbours to work together to improve the environment in which they live. This year funding has been awarded to residents at:

  • Troed yr Rhiw, Llandrindod for skip hire to remove unwanted junk and rubbish from communal areas on the estate and the installation of a communal litter bin.
  • Pine Court, Newtown for a rain water harvesting barrel to help water the communal gardens.
  • Llys Afallen, Newtown for plants for the communal gardens, fencing paint and a public litter bin.
  • Springfields, Sarn to contribute towards a larger project to install a play area on disused communal land on the estate.
  • Hatfield Court, Knighton for grounds work to develop a disused, overgrown area into a garden with outside seating and flowers.

With up to £5,000 on offer for a project the Community Development Fund really helped to empower residents to work together to coordinate and deliver their own project ideas.
